Advice to Future Fellows

 "Lead by example."

"Enjoy it."

"Participate in Landry. You just received an enormously generous award. Giving back to the community and the Landry family is the least you can do."

"Use the opportunities you have through the fellowship to your benefit. Many of these opportunities go away as a post doc and it is very helpful to gain mentorship outside of your lab early."

"Try to take advantage of the connections that can be formed through the Landry consortium - fellow graduate students as well as faculty."

"Learn as much as you can while we have all of these opportunities at our fingertip but remember to take time away from lab to recharge."

“Follow your heart. Do research that you love. Keep going through the emotional lows and highs of research.”

"Take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Landry Fellowship for collaboration between other fellows and other labs in the Harvard network."

"The fellowship chose you for what you are and will be, not to mold you into what they want you to be. Use it to become more confident."

"Stay positive about your research! The deeper you get into a project, the easier it can be to doubt its value, but it's important to stay positive about the work you're doing to make it the best it can be."

"The advice I would give to future Landry fellows would be to use the funding wisely by asking important research questions and executing experiments designed to answer these questions."

"Find out what you care about, and do it."
