Dr. Dixit is the Vice President of Physiological Chemistry at Genentech, Inc. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Foreign Member, European Molecular Biology Organization. Dr. Dixit's lab focuses primarily on cell death and inflammation, as well as characterizing regulatory components of the innate immune system, including adaptors that activate pro-inflammatory proteases (caspases) in response to “danger signals” - mediators of sterile or pathogen driven tissue damage.
