Julia Sheehan-Klenk

Lab: Pratiti (Mimi) Bandopadhayay

Originally from the Midwest, Julia grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and attended Grinnell College in Iowa, where she double-majored in Biochemistry and French. During the summers, she returned to Madison to work in Dr. Zachary Morris’s lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, investigating how radiation augments anti-tumor immune responses in melanoma. 

Excited by translational cancer resarch, Julia ventured east to Bethesda, MD where she joined Dr. Freddy Escorcia’s lab at the National Cancer Institute as a CRTA post-baccalaureate fellow. There, she investigated novel radiopharmaceutical targets for diagnostics and therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma. Now, even further east, Julia is a G2 student in Dr. Mimi Bandopadhayay’s lab at DFCI, where she will be working on fusion protein biology in pediatric low-grade glioma. 

Outside the lab, Julia loves running, growing plants, cooking vegan food. If she could live in any country, she would move to France.
