Another important goal of the Landry Cancer Biology Consortium is to empower graduate students and foster leadership skills. For that reason, the Co-Chairs initiated a Spring Symposium largely organized by graduate students. This annual event inspires and motivates the student cancer biology community through invited seminars including short talks by our KGCRF CCA awardees and/or poster competition winners and faculty talks both on research and career path.
Since 2017, the Spring Symposium includes the Karin Grunebaum Cancer Research Foundation Poster Competition funded by the Karin Grunebaum Cancer Research Foundation. The monetary prizes go towards professional development.
